A morning in your Montmartre hotel

9h. Coffee, croissant and goodies.

Paris is waking up. After a good night's sleep, leave the cosy nest of your room or suite, take the vintage elevator and slip quietly into the restaurant of your Paris 9e hotel. Beneath the Art Deco arches and 30s ambiance, the velvet banquettes of the Rochechouart welcome you for a gentle awakening.
Ă€ la carte: a French breakfast. Homemade granola. Bread from the neighboring baker. croissants, freshly baked pains au chocolat. Good honey from one of the hotel's ami in Montmartre. Eggs and charcuterie just the way we like it. I promise you, everything here is made "not too far away". A responsible spirit guaranteed, the best products from local artisans or regions renowned for their quality.

10h. All on the Butte. Long live the Sacré Coeur.

Sacré Coeur belongs to the early risers. Reinvigorated, with walking shoes on your feet, you're ready for the irresistible ascent of the Butte Montmartre.
First option: a walk from your hotel in Montmartre, ideal for wandering through the cobbled streets. Along the way, stop off at Place Saint Pierre. Take a look at the market, the temple of Parisian fabrics and fashion. And treat the kids to a ride or two on the Carrousel. An 18th-century merry-go-round where you can climb on wooden carriages and horses, reminiscent of Amélie Poulain's peregrinations in Montmartre. Alternative: the train. Just a few steps from your Montmartre hotel, opposite the Moulin Rouge, the Montmartre little train embarks at the top of the Butte. Landing at Place du Tertre and its painters.

11h30. Gardens with a view

This view will surprise you. In the repertoire of secret Paris, far from the tourists, head for the Musée de Montmartre.
At the top of the Butte, a 17th-century building tells the story of Montmartre, cabarets and the studio of Parisian painter Suzanne Valadon. Open your eyes wide, let go, breathe, find a bench, a swing, a wrought-iron table and contemplate the gardens inspired by the paintings of painter Auguste Renoir, who lived here. End the day in style with a coffee or iced tea at Café Renoir, the best place to strut your stuff just a few steps from your Paris 9e hotel.

An afternoon around the hotel in Montmartre

13h. Stop Photomaton

And there you have it. A Photomaton-sized snapshot. 100% better than Instagram.
On your way down from Butte Montmartre, stop off at the Fotoautomat at 53, rue des Trois Frères. Here, an argentic booth shoots the portrait in black and white just like in the good old days. And makes a magical souvenir. A stone's throw away, 93 rue des Martyrs takes you on a round trip from Paris to Brittany. The Breizh Café address and its Japanese-style crepes. Our favorites: the Breizh Roll rolled like a maki, lined with Bordier butter and sprinkled with Roellinger spices, and the classic sweet butter with yuzu flavors.

14h30. Shopping in Montmartre

Window-shopping enthusiasts, Orso has put together the best list of addresses where you can spend just enough, without counting the cost, and just a hop, skip and a jump from your Paris 9e hotel.
Sneakers from Veja on rue de la Vieuville. Tarts from Les Petits mitrons, rue Lepic. An unusual souvenir from L'Objet qui parle. A.P.C Surplus, rue André del Sarte. Bottles from the Cave des Abbesses... You'll find it all around your Montmartre hotel.
A must on rue des Martyrs. Listen to Lorànt Deutsch's podcast " Entrez dans l'histoire " ("Paris: la légende ensanglantée de la rue des Martyrs "), open all the doors and enjoy.

15h30. Paris Romantique

Treat yourself to a postcard from Paris. A secret garden. And a taste of freedom.
Via Place St Georges, take Rue Chaptal. Then take the paved alley leading to the Musée de la Vie Romantique, in the former home of Dutch painter Ary Scheffer, ami of Chopin and Rossini. On the first floor of an 1830 pavilion, the memorabilia of novelist George Sand are on display. A secret garden, scented with roses and lilacs, offers chairs for breathing in silence.

16h. Tea-Time

An ideal break. For two, or for the whole family.
At the bottom of the garden, Rose Bakery 's winter garden offers a wide range of delicacies. In our Top 3: scones, all-fruit tarts and fluffy carrot cake.

17h. A stroll through Batignolles

A village atmosphere in Paris. Authentic. The real thing.
Welcome to the village of Batignolles. Wonder of the 17th arrondissement and neighbor to the Butte Montmartre. Visit Place du Dr Felix Lobligeois, with its church and café terraces under the linden trees. For shopping, drop in at Maison Labiche, Saint James or Iodé.

An evening in Montmartre

20h. Dinner at Rochechouart

At the Rochechouart restaurant, it's all about bistro and bourgeois cuisine.
Tablecloths, silverware and a bow tie at the service, that's the restaurant. Always elegant, distilling the great classics of French cuisine. Among the must-try dishes: mayo egg, entrecôte and pomme purée, Colbert fried whiting and Freddy's crêpe cake.

21h30. Paris is magic

The rooftop. The spot.
On the 8th floor of the hotel, a rooftop where you can admire Paris, the Sacré Coeur and the Eiffel Tower. Sip a cocktail. A Marguerite first. How about a glass of champagne? And let yourself be carried away before descending to the basement of Rochechouart. There, the Mikado, a former Parisian dance hall. A landmark of the Années Folles, the Mikado opens its dance floor, music bar and lounges to night owls. With a nightcap, the night is just beginning. A few steps later, in the rooms and suites, Morpheus holds out his arms to you.
