Orso

Orso's May vacations

Enjoy Paris in May: not too hot, not too cold, not too many people, not too few!

May bank holidays: 3 mini-vacations at Orso hotels

In May, we never say no to a good excuse to get away for a few days - especially when the bridges fall so nicely. It's the perfect time to discover (or rediscover) Paris without the crowds, stroll through new neighborhoods and soak up the sun on a terrace...

We offer several options:

Arty city break in Montparnasse (Hôtel Léopold & Cabane)

Dreaming of Paris' poetic, arty past? Nostalgic for the good old days, but don't want to get caught up in red beret clichés? Head for Montparnasse.

Put down your suitcases in the cozy rooms of the Hôtel Léopold, a stylish and very cosy decor. A favorite hotel of the British in Paris, it's our little jewel on the Left Bank. For vintage lovers and fans of antique furniture, head for the Hôtel Cabane.

Our best addresses in the area: La Closerie des Lilas (mythical, reservations required...), Le Duc or Chez Marcel for the classics, Viet Food Vegan for the exotic and a stop at the Musée Zadkine or the Fondation Cartier for a bit of culture (we're taking advantage before the Fondation moves!).

Weekend foodies in Pigalle (Hotel Rochechouart)

For you, Paris rhymes with Gastronomy? it's on the Right Bank that you should prioritize.

We start with an iconic rooftop with a 360° view of Paris(Maggie) to get our bearings, then head back down 9 floors to enjoy a small iodized platter with a glass of white wine(Lemons and Oysters) before continuing our wanderings, and a range of addresses that click: Dumbo, Cuisine, Pantruche, or a house cocktail to sip until sunset.

Family break in the 15th arrondissement (HĂ´tel Wallace & Ami)

Here, you arrive as a tribe. A village atmosphere, games for the kids, good coffee and little places for lunch on the terrace. Special mention for Les Pères Siffleurs and the Bugatti restaurant: a real Proust's madeleine!

We spend the afternoon at Tuco's, the terrace of the Wallace Hotel, so we can enjoy the sun right up to the last second.

Parisian nights: where to have a drink with a view?

Paris is beautiful, but Paris from a well-placed rooftop, with a good cocktail in hand, is even the most beautiful city in the world!

Maggie Rooftop - Orso's all-Paris address

This is our favorite spot for long May evenings. Here, we share sunny plates and cool bubbles. The view? We'll give you a sneak preview below...

Le Wallace - secret bar in the 15th arrondissement

Hidden from view, this confidential bar is a little gem. Italian Riviera cocktails, soft lighting and a soundtrack just the way we like it. What's more? The ability to privatize for occasions that really count.

And also: Orso's favorites

Pantruche for a discreet dinner, Cuisine for no-frills elegance, and always a good bottle at reception if you prefer to toast under the sheets.

Museum Night 2025: our local guide

On May 17, 2025, the museums of Paris will open their doors... at night. Here at Orso, we've put together some insider tips, all within a 15-minute walk of our hotels.

What to do from l'Orphée (5e)

From the Cabane and Léopold (14th)

What to do from Doisy (17th)

And as always, our Orso Guide to the best addresses awaits you at reception. We'll tell you where to dine afterwards, where to have a nightcap, and even which is the prettiest way to walk home.
